The models in the MX 9000 series, for example, have the typical characterics of dot matrix printheads but with an exciting novelty: the possibility to print magnetic

and optical reading character fonts in addition to the traditional alphanumeric fonts and graphics. The traditional continuous profile systems (hold-character wheels and daisy wheel) normally used for printing magnetic and optical characters are made obsolete by these models. High printing speeds, combined with the use of of MICR and multistrike ribbons offer levels of productivity, legibility and economy which are far superior to any other technology.
